  • GETTING MEDICAL CARE- FREE VIRTUAL VISITS FROM NETWORK PROVIDERS
  • Virtual Visits: If you are covered through our medical plans, Virtual Visits are available through UnitedHealthcare (UHC) or Kaiser Permanente when you’re not sure if you need to go to the doctor, or for issues like bug bites, strep throat symptoms, or allergies. Depending on what plan you are enrolled in, download the United Healthcare or Kaiser mobile app and register now, so that you’re prepared if you need to use telemedicine. While COVID-19 testing kits aren’t available through telehealth, telemedicine physicians may be able to help you figure out if you need in person care.

A message from our CEO, Gary W. Stein

"Dear Colleague: It’s time I reached out to each of you. The Coronavirus pandemic is a unique disruption the likes of which our country has not seen in over a century. However- bad, unpredictable events happen. As we say in Texas “This is not our first Rodeo.” Just since 2000, we have endured, survived and prospered through: The Dot Com Crash, 9/11, The Steel Market crash of 2003, The commodity boom of 2004 and collapse in 2005, The Financial Crisis of 2008-2011, The Oilfield Bust of 2014-2016 and now this. That list doesn’t mention a few hurricanes, floods and other natural disasters along the way. Our company is financially strong, structurally resilient and staffed with the best team in the business. We will deal with this like we always have. We will take care of each other and our customers and our friends.

Thank you for being part of our terrific enterprise. Stay safe and clean and away from sick people. I’ll continue to communicate with you as the days go on.

    Gary"

    Updated March 15, 2020.

As of March 12, 2020, there have been 1,629 confirmed and presumptive cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the United States. There have been no confirmed or presumptive cases of Triple-S Steel employees to-date. As we’ve mentioned in our last few emails, we ask that you contact your Supervisor and Human Resources immediately should you determine that you or someone you have been in contact with has tested positive for the virus. As with other illnesses, we will ask that employees receive the appropriate clearance from their doctor prior to returning to work. HR & local management will work with those impacted employees to ensure this process is being followed.

    March 10, 2020.

As of March 10, 2020, there have been 647 confirmed and presumptive cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the United States. As we’ve mentioned in our last few emails, we ask that you continue to take the appropriate precautionary measures to prevent the spread or exposure to the virus including:

  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Wash your hands frequently with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Cover your mouth with tissues whenever you sneeze, and discard used tissues in the trash.
  • Avoid people whom are sick with respiratory symptoms.
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces.
  •

It is critical that employees do not report to work while they are experiencing respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, or fatigue. Currently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that employees remain at home until at least 24 hours after they are free of fever (100 degrees F or 37.8 degrees C) or signs of a fever, without the use of fever-reducing medications. Many times, with the best of intentions, employees report to work even though they feel ill. We provide PTO and other benefits to compensate employees whom are unable to work due to illness. Employees that report to work ill will be sent home in accordance with these health guidelines.

We ask that you contact your Supervisor and Human Resources immediately should you determine that you or someone you have been in contact with has tested positive for the virus. As with other illnesses, we will ask that employees receive the appropriate clearance from their doctor prior to returning to work. HR & local management will work those impacted employees to ensure this process is being followed.
